MACq 01 is a storytelling hotel designed by hip heritage architects Circa Morris Nunn and overlooks Sullivans Cove, right in the heart of the historic Hobart waterfront.
Red Jelly were engaged to develop the concept for a premium hotel. The result sees each of the 114 rooms named after an illustrious or infamous figure from Tasmania’s past. Convicts, crooks, captains of industry and other colourful characters are remembered in words and artefacts that make every room individual and special. I was contacted to bring each of the characters to life through my illustrations. It was a huge undertaking and one I’m happy to have been a part of.
